With the federalization of Squadron A Cavalry for the Mexican border, he enlisted in Depot Squadron A Cavalry, on March 14, 1916. He continued his service with the Depot Squadron A Cavalry into the World War. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant, April 8, 1918 and Captain, Feb. 3, 1919. Discharged Jan. 14, 1920.
