About

Arthur C. Wiswell was the brother of fellow lawn tennis player Dr Gordon B. Wiswell. They were two of the four children born to Arthur Blanchard William Wiswell and his first wife, Florence Wiswell (née Kinnear).

In 1919, Arthur Wiswell took part in the Wimbledon tournament, where he lost in the first round of the singles event in four sets to the American J.S. Brown. He also took part in the men’s doubles event with his compatriot Thomas M. McAvity. They were beaten in straight sets in the first round by the South Africans Harold Aitken and George Dodd.
