C.L. GARNETT DIES; BURIAL AT DARTFORD

Cyrus Logan Garnett, 83, of 232 Walton St., Chicago, died at 8 a.m. Tuesday at the Billings Hospital in Chicago after an illness of three weeks. Mr. Garnett was a summer resident of Green Lake for 30 years.

Born Aug. 28 1884, in Chicago, he was the son of Gwynn and Emma Patience Hancock Garnett. He was a graduate of the university of Chicago and Northwestern University Law School. He was cochairman of the board of Motor Vehicles Casualty Co., and Farmers Equitable Insurance Co.

A member of Beta Theta Phi in college, he was also a member of the board of the Cradle Society of Evanston, ill., and vice president and finance committee member since 1947. He was a member of the American Friends of Literature and past commodore of the Green Lake Yacht Club. He married Mildred O'Brien Oct. 8, 1908.

Mr. Garnett is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Kirk, Washington, D.C., Mrs. Mildred A. Metz, Chester Springs, Pa., and Mrs. Shirley Hardin, Chicago; one brother, Robert Garnett, of California; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife.

Memorial services will be held at the Federated Church, Green Lake, at 2
p.m. Frida, Dr. J. E. Dollar officiating. Burial will be in the Dartford
Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday at the Butzin Funeral
Home, Ripon.
