Thomas Tabb's occupation: Insurance Executive.. As a youth, Thomas Garnett Tabb was among the hundreds of Richmond citizens who pulled the equestrian statue of Lee from the railroad station to its present location on Monument Avenue in Richmond, Virginia. In after years he took active part in the development of Mouument Avenue.

During World War I he had charge of the work in Richmond for the relief of those blinded in service, and he was affiliated with the Red Cross. He was a Four-Minute speaker and assisted in the various bond drives and enlistment work. Through the patriotic endeavor of his ancestors in this country's wars, he was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.

He founded Tabb, Brockenbrough and Ragland Insurance Agency.

The home of Thomas Garnett Tabb and his family was at 2625 Mouument Avenue, Richmond, Virginia. Thomas was born at 'Green Corner', Richmond, Henrico County, Virginia, on 28 May 1875. He was born at the corner of Eleventh and Broad Streets in Richmond, VA.1 Thomas graduated at Richmond High, Richmond, Henrico County, Virginia, in June 1892. He married Marguerite Ashley Short at St. James Church, Wilmington, North Carolina, on 21 November 1912.2 Thomas died on 22 December 1952 at Richmond, Henrico County, Virginia, at age 77.1 His body was interred on 24 December 1952 at Richmond, Henrico County, Virginia, at Hollywood Cemetery.
