About

William Gordon Parker was the son of Elijah S. Parker, a merchant, and Sarah E. Parker (née Pitcher). William was educated at Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute and was a graduate of the Art Students League of New York, an art school in the American Fine Arts Society in Manhattan. He later authored and illustrated several books as well as being a member of the editorial staff of The Wichita Eagle newspaper. He committed suicide in March 1928 at the age of 52.
