Eldest son of Sir Anthony Crosdill, [5th] Baronet, of Kilmorony, Athy, County Kildare (and Elizabeth Caroline Thomasina, daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Arthur Kennedy). School, Charterhouse. Matriculated Michaelmas 1881; B.A. 1884. Lieutenant, Leinster Regiment, 1885; Captain, 1887; Major, 1899.
Aide-de-Camp to Lord Wolseley, Commander-in-Chief, 1895-1900. Served in the South African War, 1899-1902 (mentioned in despatches twice; D.S.O., 1901). Of Rahinderry, Queen’s County. Succeeded as 6th Baronet, January 14, 1900. Deputy Lieutenant for Queen’s County; Justice of the Peace for Queen;s County and County Kildare. High Sheriff of Queen’s County, 1906. State Steward and Chamberlain to the Lord-Lieutenant, 1908-17. Lord-Lieutenant for Co. Kildare.
Married, February 11, 1902, Winifred Bruce Blakeney, daughter of Colonel J. E. Vart-Rogers, of Broxmore Park, Romsey, and had issue. Served in the Great War, 1914-19 (Colonel, Leinster Regiment; Brevet Colonel).
