From The Daily Mercury (Mackay, Queensland), 18 March 1907:
Obituary – Mr Kenneth D. Coffin
There are many residents who will regret to hear of the death of Mr Kenneth Douglas Coffin, formerly accountant in the local branch of the Queensland National Bank, which occurred in Brisbane last Sunday week, after a lingering illness.
Some 12 months ago Mr Coffin’s health became very bad, and he was accordingly transferred from Rockhampton to Brisbane. As he was still too ill to take up his duties, he was granted l 2 months’ leave on full pay, but he gradually grew worse. His end was sudden and painless.
During his lifetime the deceased gentleman was an enthusiastic cricketer and tennis player, and in fact was a keen all-round sportsman. He leaves a widow (formerly Miss Idda Harden) and a son and daughter for whom much sympathy will be left [felt].
