About

A manufacturer by profession, Otto Relly married Lisl Schulhof in 1925. She was the daughter of one of the owners of the company Josef and Edward Schulhof, in which Otto Relly was a shareholder. They hadn’t had any children by the time of Otto Relly’s death from a stroke in November 1926 at the age of just 33.

From the Wiener Sporttagblatt, 19 November 1926: Otto Relly Dead. Otto Relly, the well-known member of the Vienna Athletic Sports Club, died very unexpectedly a few days ago. This piece of news will come as a shock, and not just to the deceased’s close family members, because Otto Relly was one of those people who, without wanting to, made friends everywhere and certainly had no enemies. He had practiced sports since his earliest years and made his name as a hockey player and, in particular, as a tennis player. He was also unusual in these times in that, whereas some young players tend to overdo things in sports arenas, he stood out due to his amiable nature and always correct behaviour.
