About

Gordon Morier was born in Glasgow, Scotland, in May 1888, the youngest of the two sons of Andrew Houston Morier, a brush manufacturer, and Martha Morier (née Montgomerie). Gordon Morier married Andrée Geneviève Pictet on 7 March 1913 in Geneva, Switzerland. In addition to playing lawn tennis, Gordon Morier was also a renowned footballer who played as centre-forward with and captained Servette Football Club (founded 1890) in Geneva

When the Register of England and Wales was compiled on 29 September 1939, just after the outbreak of World War Two, 51-year-old Gordon Morier was a visitor at a house in Sevenoaks, Kent. The same register lists his profession as stockbroker. His death was mentioned in a short notice carried in the Journal de Genève newspaper on 16 September 1957.
