About

Robert Wallet was the brother of fellow lawn tennis player Philippe Wallet. They were the sons of Henri Wallet (1850-1926), a key figure in the early history of lawn tennis in France as well as in the establishment of the International Lawn Tennis Federation in 1913; he was also president of this organisation in 1914 and 1924. As a member of the Union des Sociétés Françaises de Sports Athlétiques, the governing body of sports in France, Henri Wallet suggested the creation of a central commission for lawn tennis within the same body. In 1920, this commission became the French Lawn Tennis Federation, the present-day Fédération Française de Tennis (FFT).
