Attended Oxford University. From the internet: \"Wallington gained his [cricketing] blue at Oxford in 1877. His last match was played for Marylebone Cricket Club in 1885.

?He was groom in waiting to the then king, then the Prince of Wales and Private Secretary to the Queen. Prior to that he was the Private Secretary to the Governor of Fiji from 1883-1885. He also spent many years in Australia, and in 1889 was appointed Secretary to the Melbourne Club and in the same year became Private Secretary to the then Governor of Victoria.? He was knighted in 1916.
