About

Edward Key Harvey was born in 1867 in London, the son of Edward Harvey, senior, a wholesale druggist, and Mary Alice Harvey (née Key). A stockbroker by profession, Edward K. Harvey enjoyed notable success at the tournaments held on the clay courts of France and Switzerland during the summer months.

In 1903, Harvey married Nina Jessie Parton (1882-1962) in London. They had several children together. Nina was the sister of another lawn tennis player, Ernest Parton, who married the player Mabel Bramwell Squire in 1906; they later divorced and Mabel married a second lawn tennis player, Theodore Mavrogordato.
