Heaton Lloyd-Williams was the brother of fellow lawn tennis player Roderic Lloyd-Williams. They were two of the eight children – four sons and four daughters – of Richard Lloyd-Williams (c. 1830-1907) an architect and surveyor and native of Denbigh, and Jane Catherine Lloyd-Williams (née Jones; 1837-1904), who was from Henllan in Denbighshire.
In addition to playing lawn tennis, Heaton Lloyd-Williams also played cricket for Cheshire. He lived in Canada in later life.

Veteran of the South African war, Heaton Lloyd Williams, 70 years of age, died at his home, Suite 2, Braemar Lodge, Alberta, Wednesday afternoon. Mr Williams had resided in Calgary since 1915. He was born in Denbigh, North Wales, the third surviving son of the late Col. Richard Lloyd Williams.
At the age of 19 he went to India, and engaged in the indigo planting business. He later served in India with the Behar Light Horse. Moving to South Africa prior to the outbreak of the South African War, he served in the Cape Mounted Rifles on police duty in the colony. On the outbreak of the war, he returned to England and enlisted with Sir Watkin Wynne’s Yeomanry, and proceeded to South Africa again, where he served throughout the war.
He came to Alberta in 1907, and purchased a farm in Red Deer district. He farmed there until 1915, when he came to Calgary. He married Miss Mary Eleanor Wood, eldest daughter of George Wood, of Whitfield, Herefordshire, England. He had latterly been employed on the office staff of the Gas Company. He leaves behind his wife; a cousin, Frank Patterson, at Midnapore; and other relatives in England.
