Info Draw: 36

This tournament was played in place of the North of England Championships this year.

From "Pastime", August 29, 1894: "For the first time since 1885 the annual tournament promoted by the Yorkshire Lawn Tennis Association took place last week on the South Cliff ground near Scarborough. During the intermediate years it has been held at Harrogate, Whitby, Leeds and Hull, and four times at Ilkley.

"Owing to the incessant rain which had fallen for some time, play did not commence until two o'clock on the first day, and even then it was found necessary to use the cinder courts. Towards the end of the week the weather took a decided turn for the better, and the twenty grass courts were in fairly good condition."
