Studied law at Oxford University, England; a barrister by profession (later senior counsel); also a legal advisor to the Department of Local Government and an expert on town planning.At one point captain of the Irish Davis Cup team. Brother of fellow lawn tennis player Val Miley, with whom he won the men’s doubles title at the Irish Championships. Jack Miley married fellow lawn tennis player Mary Josephine (Una) Minch in 1921.
